Cancellation & Refund Policy

CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

Luminara Voyages
Website: www.luminaravoyages.in
Effective Date: 10th July 2026
Last Updated: 17th August

At Luminara Voyages, every journey is individually planned and coordinated across airlines, hotels, resorts, destination partners, transportation providers, experience providers and, where applicable, wedding and event vendors.

Because travel arrangements often involve advance commitments and non-refundable supplier payments, cancellation and refund conditions can vary significantly depending on the service, destination, travel dates, supplier and booking category.

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, amendments, refunds and related charges are handled by Luminara Voyages.

Please read this policy carefully before making a payment or confirming a booking.

1. OUR CANCELLATION PHILOSOPHY

Luminara Voyages follows a transparent, booking-specific approach to cancellations.

We do not apply one blanket cancellation percentage to every luxury travel booking.

Instead, cancellation liability is determined by considering:

  • The cancellation terms of individual suppliers;
  • The type of travel service booked;
  • The time remaining before travel;
  • Whether the service is refundable or non-refundable;
  • Supplier deposits already paid;
  • Supplier penalties already incurred;
  • Whether tickets or vouchers have been issued;
  • Whether arrangements have already commenced;
  • The nature of the itinerary;
  • Whether the booking involves a group, corporate event or destination wedding;
  • Any applicable Luminara Voyages planning or service fees.

This approach reflects the way premium and bespoke travel is commonly structured, where certain contracted services can become non-refundable well before the actual travel date.

2. THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE: YOUR BOOKING-SPECIFIC TERMS APPLY

Before you make a booking, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to provide the applicable cancellation conditions in your:

  • Quotation;
  • Proposal;
  • Invoice;
  • Booking confirmation;
  • Supplier confirmation; or
  • Other written booking documentation.

The cancellation terms specifically communicated and accepted for your booking will prevail over the general cancellation framework on this page to the extent permitted by law.

This is particularly important for:

  • Luxury resorts;
  • Villas;
  • Private islands;
  • Cruises;
  • Private aviation;
  • Luxury trains;
  • Peak-season travel;
  • Festive-period travel;
  • Destination weddings;
  • Corporate events;
  • Group bookings;
  • Special-event accommodation;
  • Non-refundable promotional rates.

Certain suppliers may impose cancellation charges of up to 100% of the booking value, sometimes significantly before the travel date.

3. WHEN DOES A CANCELLATION BECOME EFFECTIVE?

A cancellation request must be submitted through an official Luminara Voyages communication channel.

Cancellation is effective from the date and time on which Luminara Voyages receives the cancellation request in writing and acknowledges it.

For operational purposes:

The date on which the cancellation request is received — not the date on which the traveller intended to cancel — will normally be used to determine applicable cancellation charges.

Requests made through unofficial channels may not be treated as valid until acknowledged by our authorised team.

4. HOW TO CANCEL A BOOKING

Cancellation requests should be submitted in writing to:

Email: [cancellations@luminaravoyages.in]

or through another official communication channel specifically provided by Luminara Voyages.

The cancellation request should contain:

  • Lead traveller’s full name;
  • Booking reference;
  • Destination;
  • Travel dates;
  • Names of affected travellers;
  • Services being cancelled;
  • Reason for cancellation, where relevant;
  • Preferred refund account/payment details where requested.

Luminara Voyages may request additional information to verify the booking before processing the cancellation.

5. CANCELLATION OF A STANDARD LUXURY HOLIDAY

For standard bespoke or curated leisure bookings where no separate cancellation schedule has been provided, the following framework may apply.

More than 60 days before departure

Cancellation will generally result in:

  • Loss of any non-refundable supplier deposits;
  • Any supplier cancellation charges already applicable;
  • Any non-refundable booking or planning fees;
  • Applicable administrative charges, where disclosed.

Any remaining eligible amount may be refundable.

31–60 days before departure

Cancellation may result in:

  • Applicable supplier cancellation charges;
  • Loss of non-refundable deposits;
  • Non-refundable planning/service fees;
  • Other committed costs.

Where supplier commitments permit, the remaining eligible balance may be refunded.

15–30 days before departure

Cancellation may result in substantial cancellation charges, including supplier penalties and non-refundable components.

Depending on the booking, the refundable amount may be significantly reduced.

0–14 days before departure

Bookings may be non-refundable, particularly where suppliers have imposed full cancellation charges.

Any refund will depend on the specific supplier terms and any amounts actually recoverable.

After departure

Unused portions of an itinerary are generally non-refundable unless the applicable supplier specifically provides a refund or credit.

6. WHY THE ABOVE DATES ARE NOT A GUARANTEED REFUND SCALE

The above framework is intended as a general guide and does not guarantee a specific percentage refund.

For example, a luxury hotel may impose a 100% cancellation charge 30 days before arrival, while another property may allow cancellation without penalty until 7 days before arrival.

Similarly, airline fares can have completely different cancellation and refund conditions.

Accordingly, the actual cancellation amount will be determined by the terms applicable to your confirmed booking.

7. NON-REFUNDABLE SERVICES

Some services may be identified as:

Non-Refundable

Non-Cancellable

Non-Changeable

Non-Refundable / Non-Changeable

These may include, depending on the supplier:

  • Promotional hotel rates;
  • Special contracted rates;
  • Luxury villas;
  • Private islands;
  • Certain luxury resorts;
  • Airline tickets;
  • Cruise reservations;
  • Private charters;
  • Event tickets;
  • Special experiences;
  • Peak-season inventory;
  • Festive-period bookings;
  • Advance-purchase rates;
  • Special event accommodation;
  • Supplier deposits;
  • Certain visa or documentation fees.

Where a service is non-refundable, Luminara Voyages will clearly communicate this before confirmation wherever reasonably possible.

8. LUMINARA VOYAGES PLANNING AND SERVICE FEES

For bespoke travel planning, itinerary design, concierge planning or other professional services, Luminara Voyages may charge a separate planning or service fee.

Such fees may cover:

  • Destination research;
  • Itinerary development;
  • Supplier sourcing;
  • Hotel selection;
  • Experience curation;
  • Availability checks;
  • Booking coordination;
  • Travel management;
  • Concierge support;
  • Event coordination.

Unless specifically stated otherwise in writing, professional planning and service fees become non-refundable once the agreed work has commenced or the booking has been confirmed.

This reflects the fact that bespoke luxury travel planning involves professional work and supplier coordination before travel takes place. Luxury travel agencies commonly separate planning/service fees from supplier cancellation liability.

9. AIRLINE TICKETS

Airline bookings are subject to the fare rules and conditions of the relevant airline.

Depending on the fare, cancellation may involve:

  • Airline cancellation fees;
  • Non-refundable fare components;
  • Non-refundable service charges;
  • Taxes or fees that cannot be recovered;
  • Reissue charges;
  • Fare differences;
  • No-show penalties.

Once an airline ticket has been issued, its refundability will be determined primarily by the applicable airline fare conditions.

Some fares may be refundable, some partially refundable and others completely non-refundable.

Luminara Voyages cannot guarantee a refund where the airline does not provide one.

Airline conditions can specifically restrict or exclude cancellation rights for certain fare types.

10. AIRLINE SCHEDULE CHANGES OR CANCELLATIONS

If an airline cancels or materially changes a flight, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to assist the traveller with the options made available by the airline.

Depending on the airline’s rules, options may include:

  • Rebooking;
  • Alternate flights;
  • Credit;
  • Refund;
  • Date changes.

Any refund will generally be subject to the airline’s applicable rules.

Luminara Voyages will not treat an airline-initiated cancellation as an automatic guarantee that all other components of the itinerary are refundable.

Hotel, transfer, experience and other supplier terms may remain separately applicable.

11. HOTEL AND RESORT BOOKINGS

Hotel and resort cancellations are governed by the specific rate plan and property terms.

A hotel booking may be:

Flexible

The booking may be cancelled without a supplier penalty until a specified deadline.

Partially refundable

A cancellation charge may apply depending on when the cancellation is made.

Non-refundable

No supplier refund may be available once the booking is confirmed.

Special-event or peak-period

Stricter cancellation conditions may apply.

This can be particularly relevant for:

  • Christmas;
  • New Year;
  • Major festivals;
  • Long weekends;
  • Fashion weeks;
  • Sporting events;
  • Conferences;
  • Major cultural events;
  • Destination weddings;
  • High-demand luxury properties.

12. LUXURY VILLAS AND EXCLUSIVE PROPERTIES

Luxury villas, private residences, private islands and exclusive-use properties may have significantly stricter cancellation conditions.

Because such inventory is often reserved exclusively for one client or group, deposits may become non-refundable once the reservation is confirmed.

Where such terms apply, they will be communicated in the relevant booking documentation.

13. CRUISES AND LUXURY TRAINS

Cruise lines and luxury rail operators generally maintain their own cancellation schedules.

Cancellation charges may increase as the departure date approaches.

Some reservations may require substantial deposits or full payment well before departure.

The specific cruise or rail operator’s cancellation terms will apply to the relevant booking.

14. TRANSPORTATION AND PRIVATE TRANSFERS

Cancellation of:

  • Chauffeur services;
  • Private transfers;
  • Luxury vehicles;
  • Coaches;
  • Trains;
  • Ferries;
  • Boats;
  • Yacht services;

will be subject to the relevant supplier’s terms.

Late cancellations, no-shows or changes to pickup arrangements may result in full or partial charges.

15. EXPERIENCES, TOURS AND ACTIVITIES

Experiences may include:

  • Private tours;
  • Dining experiences;
  • Safari arrangements;
  • Yacht experiences;
  • Adventure activities;
  • Wellness treatments;
  • Cultural experiences;
  • Tickets;
  • Excursions;
  • Entertainment.

Each experience provider may have its own cancellation deadline.

Certain experiences are booked specifically for a traveller and may therefore be non-refundable.

16. VISA AND DOCUMENTATION SERVICES

Visa fees and government application charges are generally non-refundable once paid to the relevant authority.

Third-party visa service charges may also be non-refundable once processing has commenced.

Cancellation of a travel booking does not automatically result in a refund of:

  • Visa fees;
  • Government charges;
  • Embassy charges;
  • Application fees;
  • Documentation fees;
  • Courier charges;
  • Service charges.

Visa issuance itself is controlled by the relevant government authority.

17. TRAVEL INSURANCE

Luminara Voyages strongly recommends appropriate travel insurance for international and high-value travel.

Insurance may, depending on the policy, provide protection for certain covered cancellation reasons.

Travellers should carefully review:

  • Covered reasons;
  • Exclusions;
  • Deductibles;
  • Claim procedures;
  • Coverage limits;
  • Documentation requirements.

Luminara Voyages cannot guarantee that an insurance claim will be accepted.

Insurance claims must be made directly in accordance with the insurer’s procedures.

18. CHANGE OF TRAVEL DATES

A request to change travel dates is not necessarily treated as a simple amendment.

Depending on the booking, it may require:

  • Supplier amendment fees;
  • Fare differences;
  • New hotel rates;
  • Rebooking charges;
  • Seasonal price differences;
  • Additional service fees.

If a supplier does not permit date changes, the request may be treated as a cancellation followed by a new booking.

19. PARTIAL CANCELLATIONS

If only some travellers cancel from a group booking, the remaining travellers’ pricing may change.

For example:

  • Twin-sharing rates may become single occupancy rates;
  • Group transport costs may need to be redistributed;
  • Minimum room commitments may no longer be met;
  • Event minimums may change;
  • Supplier discounts may no longer apply.

Any resulting difference may be payable by the remaining travellers or booking party.

20. NO-SHOW POLICY

A no-show occurs when a traveller fails to use a confirmed service without cancelling it in accordance with the applicable cancellation procedure.

No-shows may result in 100% loss of the relevant booking amount, depending on supplier terms.

This may apply to:

  • Flights;
  • Hotels;
  • Resorts;
  • Transfers;
  • Tours;
  • Cruises;
  • Experiences;
  • Event services.

A no-show may also result in the automatic cancellation of onward or associated services.

21. LATE ARRIVAL

If you expect to arrive later than the scheduled hotel check-in time or transfer time, you should notify Luminara Voyages or the relevant supplier as soon as possible.

Failure to notify may result in the booking being treated as a no-show.

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Late-night transfers;
  • Extended waiting time;
  • Re-arranged transportation;
  • Missed connections.

22. DESTINATION WEDDINGS

Destination weddings require a separate cancellation framework because they involve extensive advance commitments.

A wedding booking may include:

  • Venue;
  • Hotel room blocks;
  • Catering;
  • Décor;
  • Entertainment;
  • Photography;
  • Videography;
  • Transportation;
  • Guest transfers;
  • Wedding planning;
  • Production;
  • Artists;
  • Experiences;
  • Special events;
  • Hospitality arrangements.

Many of these services require suppliers to commit resources specifically to the wedding.

23. DESTINATION WEDDING DEPOSIT

Unless otherwise agreed in the signed wedding proposal or contract, Luminara Voyages may require an initial non-refundable wedding planning/booking deposit to commence confirmed arrangements.

The amount of the deposit will be communicated in the wedding proposal.

The deposit may be used to secure:

  • Venue availability;
  • Accommodation blocks;
  • Supplier commitments;
  • Planning resources;
  • Production;
  • Event services.

Once supplier commitments have been made, additional non-refundable amounts may become payable.

24. DESTINATION WEDDING CANCELLATION FRAMEWORK

Unless a different schedule is specifically stated in the signed wedding contract, the following framework may apply:

More than 120 days before the wedding

The client may be responsible for:

  • Non-refundable planning fees;
  • Non-refundable supplier deposits;
  • Venue deposits;
  • Accommodation deposits;
  • Other committed supplier costs.

Any eligible remaining balance may be considered for refund.

90–119 days before the wedding

Cancellation may result in significant supplier charges and forfeiture of committed deposits.

The client may be liable for amounts already committed or charged by suppliers.

60–89 days before the wedding

A substantial portion of the contracted amount may become non-refundable.

Additional supplier cancellation charges may apply.

30–59 days before the wedding

Cancellation may result in substantial financial penalties, potentially including the majority of the contracted value.

Within 30 days of the wedding

The booking may be 100% non-refundable, subject to the specific wedding contract and amounts recoverable from suppliers.

25. WEDDING GUEST CANCELLATIONS

Where individual guests cancel from a destination wedding booking, cancellation charges will depend on the relevant:

  • Hotel;
  • Airline;
  • Transfer provider;
  • Activity provider;
  • Rooming arrangement;
  • Wedding event requirements.

The wedding host or booking party may remain responsible for minimum room blocks or contracted event commitments.

26. WEDDING DATE CHANGES

Changing a wedding date may be treated as a cancellation and rebooking depending on supplier terms.

A date change may result in:

  • Venue charges;
  • Supplier amendment fees;
  • New accommodation rates;
  • Seasonal pricing differences;
  • Lost deposits;
  • New deposits;
  • Vendor availability issues.

A date change cannot be guaranteed.

27. WEDDING VENUE CANCELLATION

Where a venue requires a non-refundable deposit or staged payment schedule, the venue’s terms will apply.

If the venue retains any amount following cancellation, Luminara Voyages cannot refund that amount unless it is actually recovered from the venue.

28. CORPORATE TRAVEL AND EVENTS

Corporate travel and event bookings can involve significant advance commitments.

They may include:

  • Conference venues;
  • Hotels;
  • Meeting rooms;
  • Catering;
  • AV equipment;
  • Stage production;
  • Branding;
  • Transportation;
  • Entertainment;
  • Guest management;
  • Accommodation blocks;
  • Speakers;
  • Artists;
  • Event technology.

A separate corporate proposal or agreement may therefore contain cancellation provisions specific to the event.

29. CORPORATE EVENT CANCELLATION FRAMEWORK

Unless a different cancellation schedule is agreed in the corporate contract, the following framework may apply:

120+ days before event

The client may be responsible for:

  • Planning fees;
  • Non-refundable deposits;
  • Venue commitments;
  • Supplier commitments;
  • Procurement costs already incurred.

Eligible remaining amounts may be refundable.

90–119 days before event

Cancellation may result in forfeiture of deposits and committed supplier costs.

60–89 days before event

Cancellation may result in significant charges, including supplier penalties and committed event costs.

30–59 days before event

A substantial portion of the contracted event value may become non-refundable.

Within 30 days of event

The booking may be 100% non-refundable, subject to the specific corporate agreement and amounts actually recoverable.

30. CORPORATE ROOM BLOCKS

Hotels may require corporate clients to guarantee a minimum number of rooms.

If the final number of rooms falls below the contracted minimum, the client may be responsible for:

  • Attrition charges;
  • Lost room revenue;
  • Cancellation fees;
  • Rate adjustments;
  • Other hotel-imposed charges.

The applicable hotel or event contract will govern.

31. CORPORATE EVENT POSTPONEMENT

Postponement is not automatically a cancellation-free option.

If a corporate event is postponed, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to negotiate with suppliers for:

  • Date changes;
  • Credit;
  • Rebooking;
  • Transfer of deposits.

However, suppliers may impose:

  • Rescheduling fees;
  • New rates;
  • Lost deposits;
  • Minimum spend requirements;
  • Availability restrictions.

32. GROUP BOOKINGS

Group bookings may be subject to separate cancellation schedules because suppliers often require deposits based on the size of the group.

Group bookings may include:

  • Family groups;
  • Corporate groups;
  • Wedding groups;
  • Incentive groups;
  • Private celebrations;
  • Large leisure groups.

The specific group cancellation terms will be communicated before confirmation.

33. CANCELLATION BY LUMINARA VOYAGES

Luminara Voyages may cancel or decline to proceed with an arrangement where:

  • A supplier cannot provide the contracted service;
  • Required payment is not received;
  • Required documentation is not provided;
  • Fraud is suspected;
  • Legal or regulatory requirements prevent the service;
  • A safety issue makes the arrangement impractical;
  • Circumstances beyond our reasonable control prevent performance.

Where Luminara Voyages cancels a booking for reasons within our reasonable control, we will communicate the applicable options and, where legally required, provide the appropriate refund or remedy.

Where cancellation results from a supplier, force majeure or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control, the refund will generally depend on amounts recoverable from the relevant supplier and applicable law.

34. SUPPLIER CANCELLATION

If a supplier cancels a service, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to:

  • Inform the client;
  • Identify alternatives;
  • Request a refund where available;
  • Request a credit where available;
  • Assist with rebooking.

However, the amount and form of any refund or credit will depend on the supplier’s terms.

35. FORCE MAJEURE

No refund is automatically guaranteed where services cannot be used because of circumstances beyond the reasonable control of Luminara Voyages or the relevant suppliers.

Such circumstances may include:

  • Natural disasters;
  • Severe weather;
  • War;
  • Terrorism;
  • Civil unrest;
  • Government restrictions;
  • Border closures;
  • Pandemics;
  • Epidemics;
  • Strikes;
  • Airport closures;
  • Airline disruption;
  • Political emergencies;
  • Security incidents;
  • Infrastructure failure;
  • Other extraordinary circumstances.

Where possible, Luminara Voyages will work with suppliers to seek:

  • Refunds;
  • Credits;
  • Rebooking;
  • Date changes;
  • Alternative arrangements.

The final outcome will depend on supplier policies and applicable law.

36. REFUNDS ARE SUBJECT TO ACTUAL RECOVERY

Where a third-party supplier controls the relevant funds, Luminara Voyages cannot refund an amount that has not been received or recovered from that supplier, except where Luminara Voyages is legally required to do otherwise.

For example, if a hotel retains a non-refundable deposit following a cancellation, that amount cannot be treated as refundable by Luminara Voyages merely because the client has requested cancellation.

37. REFUND CALCULATION

Where a refund is available, the refundable amount may be calculated as:

Amount Paid

Less:

  • Supplier cancellation charges;
  • Non-refundable supplier deposits;
  • Airline penalties;
  • Hotel penalties;
  • Event/vendor penalties;
  • Visa or government fees;
  • Non-refundable planning/service fees;
  • Payment gateway charges where non-recoverable;
  • Bank charges where applicable;
  • Other disclosed non-refundable costs.

Equals: Eligible Refund Amount

A detailed refund calculation may be provided upon request.

38. SERVICE FEES AND REFUNDS

Luminara Voyages service fees are separate from supplier charges.

A supplier may refund the travel component while the Luminara Voyages planning or service fee remains non-refundable where the relevant service has already been performed.

This distinction will be disclosed where applicable.

39. PAYMENT GATEWAY AND BANKING CHARGES

Where a payment gateway, bank or financial institution charges a fee that cannot be recovered by Luminara Voyages, that amount may be deducted from the refundable amount where legally permissible and where disclosed in the applicable booking terms.

Currency conversion differences may also affect the final amount received.

40. REFUNDS IN FOREIGN CURRENCY

Where a booking was paid in a foreign currency or the supplier refunds funds in a foreign currency, the final INR amount received may differ from the original INR amount paid due to exchange-rate movements.

Luminara Voyages is not responsible for losses caused solely by foreign exchange fluctuations.

41. REFUND METHOD

Where practical, refunds will generally be processed through the original payment method.

If the original payment method cannot receive the refund, Luminara Voyages may request alternative banking details.

For security purposes, additional verification may be required.

42. REFUND PROCESSING TIME

Once the refundable amount has been determined and all necessary supplier refunds have been received, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to process the eligible refund within a reasonable period.

Where a refund depends on a third-party supplier, payment processor, airline, hotel or other provider, the overall timeframe may be longer.

We will not be responsible for delays caused solely by third-party processing timelines.

43. TRAVEL CREDITS AND VOUCHERS

In some circumstances, a supplier may offer:

  • Travel credit;
  • Future-use voucher;
  • Rebooking;
  • Alternative service;

instead of a cash refund.

Luminara Voyages will communicate such options where available.

A travel credit or voucher is subject to the issuing supplier’s:

  • Expiry date;
  • Transferability;
  • Destination restrictions;
  • Blackout dates;
  • Fare conditions;
  • Other terms.

44. PARTIALLY USED BOOKINGS

Once travel has commenced, unused components may not automatically be refundable.

This can include:

  • Unused hotel nights;
  • Missed tours;
  • Unused transfers;
  • Unused activities;
  • Early departure;
  • Missed flights;
  • Unused accommodation.

Any refund will depend on the applicable supplier’s terms.

45. EARLY DEPARTURE

If a traveller voluntarily leaves a trip early, the unused portion of the itinerary will generally be non-refundable unless the relevant supplier provides a refund.

Additional transportation or accommodation costs caused by early departure will generally be payable by the traveller.

46. NO REFUND FOR PERSONAL DECISIONS

Refunds are generally not guaranteed where a traveller voluntarily decides not to travel due to circumstances such as:

  • Change of personal plans;
  • Change of mind;
  • Personal scheduling conflicts;
  • Failure to obtain required documents;
  • Failure to obtain a visa;
  • Failure to arrive on time;
  • Personal financial circumstances;
  • Personal preference.

Travel insurance may provide coverage for certain qualifying reasons.

47. VISA REFUSAL

Visa refusal does not automatically entitle a traveller to a full refund.

Any refund will depend on the cancellation conditions applicable to:

  • Flights;
  • Hotels;
  • Tours;
  • Transfers;
  • Experiences;
  • Other booked services.

Visa application fees and government charges are generally non-refundable.

48. PASSPORT OR DOCUMENTATION ISSUES

If a traveller cannot travel because of:

  • Expired passport;
  • Incorrect passport details;
  • Missing visa;
  • Incorrect documentation;
  • Immigration restrictions;
  • Failure to meet entry requirements;

the applicable supplier cancellation conditions will apply.

Travellers are responsible for ensuring that their documentation is valid and accurate.

49. PEAK SEASON AND SPECIAL EVENTS

Stricter cancellation terms may apply during:

  • Christmas;
  • New Year;
  • Diwali;
  • Eid;
  • Holi;
  • Major festivals;
  • Long weekends;
  • School holidays;
  • Sporting events;
  • International conferences;
  • Fashion events;
  • Destination weddings;
  • Other high-demand periods.

These terms will be disclosed before booking where available.

50. SPECIAL AND EXCLUSIVE BOOKINGS

Additional or stricter cancellation terms may apply to:

  • Private islands;
  • Luxury villas;
  • Exclusive-use resorts;
  • Private jets;
  • Yacht charters;
  • Luxury cruises;
  • Luxury trains;
  • Charter flights;
  • Large event venues;
  • Special access experiences.

Such services may require substantial advance deposits and may become fully non-refundable after confirmation.

51. AMENDMENTS TO BOOKINGS

A request to modify a confirmed booking may incur:

  • Supplier amendment fees;
  • Fare differences;
  • Rate differences;
  • Administrative charges;
  • Rebooking fees;
  • Additional planning fees.

An amendment is not guaranteed until confirmed in writing.

52. CANCELLATION DUE TO MEDICAL REASONS

Where a traveller cancels due to illness or medical circumstances, normal cancellation terms will generally continue to apply.

Travellers should contact their travel insurer where the reason may be covered under their insurance policy.

Luminara Voyages may assist with documentation or supplier communication where reasonably possible.

53. EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES AND GOODWILL

In exceptional situations, Luminara Voyages may, at its discretion and subject to supplier approval, attempt to negotiate:

  • Waiver of cancellation fees;
  • Partial refund;
  • Credit;
  • Date change;
  • Rebooking;
  • Alternative arrangements.

Any goodwill arrangement does not create a precedent or guarantee similar treatment for future bookings.

54. DISPUTED REFUNDS

If you disagree with a refund calculation, please contact our team promptly.

We will provide, where appropriate:

  • Booking details;
  • Applicable cancellation terms;
  • Supplier charges;
  • Refund calculation;
  • Amount recovered;
  • Amount retained by suppliers;
  • Applicable Luminara Voyages charges.

We aim to resolve refund queries transparently and in good faith.

55. CONSUMER RIGHTS

Nothing in this Cancellation & Refund Policy is intended to remove or restrict any mandatory rights available to consumers under applicable Indian law.

Where applicable law provides a right to a refund, remedy or compensation that cannot legally be excluded, that legal right will continue to apply.

Luminara Voyages will provide cancellation and refund information applicable to the relevant service in a clear and accessible manner.

56. PRIOR DISCLOSURE OF CANCELLATION TERMS

Before a booking is confirmed, Luminara Voyages will endeavour to disclose the relevant cancellation conditions for the services being booked.

For complex or high-value bookings, these may be included directly in the:

  • Proposal;
  • Invoice;
  • Booking confirmation;
  • Contract;
  • Supplier terms;
  • Event agreement;
  • Wedding agreement.

Clients should carefully review these documents before making payment.

57. ORDER OF PRECEDENCE

If there is a conflict between this general Cancellation & Refund Policy and the specific cancellation conditions communicated for your booking, the following order will generally apply:

1. Signed booking/event/wedding contract

2. Specific supplier cancellation terms incorporated into the booking

3. Booking confirmation/invoice

4. Quotation/proposal

5. This general Cancellation & Refund Policy

This structure ensures that clients receive the cancellation terms actually applicable to their specific travel arrangement.

58. CANCELLATION CHECKLIST FOR CLIENTS

Before cancelling, we recommend that you:

  • Review your booking confirmation;
  • Review supplier cancellation deadlines;
  • Check your travel insurance;
  • Contact Luminara Voyages in writing;
  • Obtain written acknowledgement of cancellation;
  • Request the applicable refund calculation;
  • Keep copies of invoices and payment records;
  • Retain cancellation correspondence.

59. IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR HIGH-VALUE BOOKINGS

Luxury travel often involves advance commitments to suppliers.

For high-value travel, destination weddings, corporate events, private charters, exclusive villas and other specialised arrangements, cancellation charges may become substantial immediately after confirmation.

Clients should therefore review the specific cancellation schedule before making the booking deposit.

Where applicable, the booking documents will clearly identify non-refundable components.
